Dear Friends:

It is with great honor that we extend our greetings to you as the host of the 17th Japan-Korea Joint Conference on Surgery for Cerebral Stroke (JKJC) scheduled for 2024.
Firstly, we wish to express our profound gratitude to Professor Toru Iwama for hosting the KJJC meeting in Gifu 2023 amidst the challenging circumstances brought on by COVID-19. The conference was exceptional in terms of its theme, organization, and setting, and I deeply appreciated the hospitality extended by the host, making it a thoroughly enjoyable and fruitful event.
The upcoming 2024 JKJC meeting is scheduled to take place from September 4th to 6th at the Seoul Lotte Hotel. Seoul is the capital of South Korea and serves as a central hub for historical and cultural significance, offering numerous attractions and activities. The venue's location in the heart of Seoul will allow attendees to easily explore the essence of the city and its many historical attractions.
The main theme for upcoming conference is "Make it easier and safer." Since the inception of the Japan-Korea Cerebrovascular Conference in 1989, there have been significant advancements in the cerebrovascular field. This conference has undeniably contributed to improving the quality of healthcare in both nations and has been a substantial aid to patients. Additionally, the exchange established through this conference has enhanced the collaboration and fellowship between neurosurgeons of the two countries, increasing visits and learning opportunities between medical institutions and fostering bilateral exchange and camaraderie.
We hope this meeting will serve as a platform to share the latest insights and medical achievements across a wide range of cerebrovascular areas, including cerebral aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, cavernous malformation, and Moyamoya disease and etc.
While numerous attendees have previously experienced Seoul, the present conference signifies the first meeting in Korea since we resumed our normal daily life following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. We sincerely hope that many colleagues from japan and Korea to reinforce friendships, engage in lively academic discussions, and comfortably enjoy the beautiful autumn in Seoul.

We look forward to seeing you in the heart of Seoul with a clear and beautiful autumn sky in September.

Sincerely

Jae Sung AHN MD, PhD
